Hi there, I’m June
Writer, speaker, cat mom, sandwich lover, servant of Christ
I stumbled across an episode of Law & Order in the seventh grade and was instantly hooked. A few years later, a career counselor told me about a great path into law enforcement: forensic accounting. That was the day I decided: I would become an accountant. After college and grad school, I explored various accounting careers, from consulting to non-profit to government. But a few years in, I realized that things weren’t…adding up. I was still working in the accounting field when the world shut down amid a global pandemic.
With my newfound free time outside of work, I started writing. Podcasts, audiobooks, and learning are my honorary love languages – I discovered that I quite enjoyed writing as well! I spent the first two years of the pandemic pouring out my soul on paper. I didn’t know where any of it was leading, but it was refining and restorative. Through written prayers of lament, confession, confusion, praise, and everything in between, God drew me closer to Him. For me, the call to write wasn’t a call to speak but rather a call to listen.
My greatest hope is that I might come alongside you in your journey of waiting and help redirect focus to brazen trust, broken surrender, and bold worship before Jesus. I’m a mom to two cats and some plants in the Washington, DC Metro area. You’ll also find me exploring, enjoying time outdoors, working out, crafting, and eating lots of sandwiches (is there any other food, really?).
I hope my writing will point you to the truth of John 1:5 and to the glory of God. His light really does shine in the darkness. When life is hard, and things don’t make sense, I hope my words direct you to a God who meets you in sorrow, confusion, and doubt and says He is with you. I hope together we can run our race well – exalting the name of God, doing His will in the world, and living on mission to spread the good news of the gospel far and wide.
